How to moisturize dry skin? Homemade Remedies & Treatments
Reasons for dry skin include a variety of conditions such as too much windburn, sun, harsh soaps and cleansers, aging and sometimes even diet. Insufficient water can dry your skin overnight as well. But don’t get upset I’d like to share some useful tips for treating dry skin. Hope it will do its work!
Vitamins and Natural Oils may Assist in Treating Dry Skin
Drinking lots of water is one remedy for dry skin, but if it isn’t enough and your skin remains very dry, you need additional help. Many skin care creams contain vitamins: especially Vitamin E has been shown to work for correcting dry skin. Apply Vitamin E enriched skin creams, and also you can increase its effects by taking Vitamin E capsules, which help strengthen skin from the inside.
Vitamin E works on the skin all over your body—hands, feet, face. Also you can use other natural remedies for dry skin such as Evening Primrose oil, flaxseed oil or Omega 3 oils derived from fish. All these nutritional supplements increase skin’s elasticity, its rebuilding capacity and its moisture.
Diet and Nutritional Changes against Dry Skin
Support the health of your skin by eating fresh fish. Also to increase your essential fatty acid intake, add a tablespoon of flax seeds to your morning cereal. These nutritional steps do more than fix your dry skin: they’re also natural cures for everything from stomach problems to heart disease.
Remedies & Treatments
Utmost dry skin can get relief through intensive therapy by applying daytime moisturizer lotion, night creams and increased air humidity. If you suffer from dry facial skin or dry skin all over your body, especially in winter, it may be because the heat in your house is drying you out. Try putting a cool humidifier in your bedroom at night, and you may see a difference in a few days. Also you can apply popular moisturizing facial masks. You can easily do-it-yourself.
Prepare a mixture by adding 1 teaspoon of orange juice, 1 egg yolk, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil, few drops of rose water and some drops of lime juice. Apply this well prepared mixture on the face in the morning 15 minutes before taking bath. This is very useful remedy for moisturizing dry skin.
You are eating an orange or tangerine? Do not throw away its rind! Dry it and reduce it to powder. You’ve done a great base for moisturizing and nourishing dry skin masks. Now mix 1 teaspoon of the powder with 1 raw egg yolk and 1 tea spoon of sour cream. Apply the mask for 20 min on your face, neck and décolleté zone. Wash it off with lukewarm water and then apply your favorite moisturizing lotion.
Make a paste by mixing one small cucumber and one cup of oatmeal. Mix 1 teaspoon of this paste with 1 teaspoon milk malai and leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

I have been using english skin care products by mama nature to help me cope with my dry skin. I live in Texas and suffer bad with dry skin especially in the summer months. I would rather use local skin creams but i have not found any that can compare to the mama nature products.
