Callous and reddened skin on elbows can cause much discomfort. Though this is not a tragedy. You can cope with the problem easily. All you need to do is to take regular care of your elbow skin.

The easiest way to get rid of the problem is to wipe elbows with lemon juice and apply hand cream. The same effect can be achieved with plunging your elbows into warmed vegetable oil for a few minutes.


If your elbow skin is smooth but reddened rub salt with very small granules mixed with cream into the skin. Do it no more often than twice a week. Grinded coffee with honey and sour cream can be applied in the same way to reddened skin. This is a wonderful scrub that can be used not only to elbow skin but to the whole body.

Besides, you can apply various masks to make the elbow skin smoother and more nice-looking. For example, this potato mask will make your skin softer, whiter and more tender. You will need 3 potatoes. Boil them and mash thoroughly.

Add 3 tablespoons milk and then apply the paste massaging the skin energetically. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes. Then rinse off with cold water and apply some hand cream.

Do the mask three times a week.
There is another mask for making the elbow skin softer. Mix 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cream or sour cream,

1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide. Steam out the skin, apply the mixture and cover it with cellophane for 45 minutes. Wash the mask off and apply oily cream.
Gelatinous cream for elbow skin

Soak 1/2 teaspoon gelatin in 1 tablespoon warm boiled water. When the gelatin swells add 1 teaspoon glycerin and 1 teaspoon honey. Mix all the components well on the water bath and then apply to the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
