What if you think that you belong to the combined skin color type?

Let’s imagine the situation that you can’t determine quite unambiguously the skin color type you’re of. If after thorough consideration you still can’t point out the color season and start thinking that you are of the combined type, let me assure you that you’re probably wrong, because there are no combined skin color types.

The most contradicting fact is that you can see more or less pronounced contrast between the skin, hair and iris within one season type as far as every type has both delicate, light and saturated, dark hues.

Thus, spring season type with golden dark tints in skin and hair can easily resort to the light nuances of the fall type in wardrobe and make up. And visa versa, one with tender and pale skin fall type can go perfect with soft and subdued tones of spring palette.

Something similar happens to the summer type dark tints that can be quite good with delicate hues of winter palette. And – as a very rare exception to the rule – strongly pronounced winter type with rich strong contrast of the skin, hair and eyes color can make use of lively nuances of spring palette.

Have I solved your doubts?

Going back to the Skin Color Seasons, let’s talk about the winter and summer type that is called cool skin type.

There are some comparative characteristics of this skin color type:

The basic tone of summer nuances – blue. That is why the tints of this type are more subdued, light and fuzzy than the nuances of the same basic tone for winter gamut.

The basic tone of winter nuances – always blue. But they are definitely more exact and clear than the allied summer ones.

Summer tone type women are typical for:

There are 3 variants of the summer skin tone.
1. Smoothly pail face skin tone.

2. The skin is transpierced with the thin vessels of the cold pink hue.

3. Light skin of the olive tone.

The summer tone type gets the tan well (the exception is the extremely light summer skin variants). The skin tint becomes noble, cool olive that never obtains a red subtone.

Freckles – moles and freckles (if there are any) always have grey or ash gray hue (no gold or reed-brown tint).

Lips – Cold pink.

Eyes – Grey, grey-blue, violet-blue, green-blue, dark-blue, and dark-brown.

Hair – Summer tone type people are characteristic for ash hue that goes perfectly with the cold skin, eyes and lips tone. The natural hair color is usually ash-brown. If the summer type woman has light hair, they are of ash hue as a rule.

If you like streaking, you’d better choose platinum-light tints. If you want to try the red one, there should be red color with a blue hue. Avoid too dark or black colors when dyeing otherwise there will be a rough contrast between your hair and skin tone.

Winter tone type women are typical for:

There are 2 variants of the winter skin tone.

1. Snow White – extremely light, almost “transparent”, and clean, noble skin. Soft pink color is very rare. The skin gains an olive hue when tanning.

2. South type – cool olive skin tone. It acquires an intensive olive tan.

Eyebrows and eyelashes – dark. It’s a characteristic feature for winter color type.

Lips – the lips are with cold subtone.

Hair – dark-brown, brown-black, black with natural blue hue. Light skin tone and dark hair create the winter typical bright contrast between light and dark.

Winter tone type women are best with light-silver, bluish, and blue-violet locks when streaking. Don’t choose red tints for dyeing as they make the winter-tone-type-look cheap. Instead try an eggplant color, dark-brown or black.

Eyes – natural eyes colors are: ice-blue, turquoise-blue, blue, violet-blue, green, grey, grey-blue, black-brown, black or walnut.

Celebs of the cold skin tone: Drew Barrymore, Megan Fox, Madonna, Reese Wiserspoone, Dita Von Teese and others.

There are some comparative characteristics of the skin color types:

The basic tone of spring nuances – yellow. That is why the tints of this type are more cheerful and brighter than the nuances of the same basic tone for fall gamut.

The basic tone of fall nuances – red. That is why they look richer, heavier, and of sallower complexion than the allied spring ones.

Now let’s distinguish each type thoroughly.

Spring tone type women are typical for:

Skin – face transparent paleness, delicate gold tone, slight colour of peach hue. Spring type is characteristic by the natural radiation due to such a face color.

Freckles – if there are any, they are gold-brown.

Lips – warm red.

Eyelashes and eyebrows – they are of the same tint that the hair is (light or brown) but in fact they could be a bit darker than hair.

Sun tan – spring skin type acquires the tan pretty easy despite the delicate skin color. The skin gets the warm reddish-honey, gold-brown or dark-brow hue (that is the main distinction from the fall skin color type that doesn’t tan so well).

Hair – these are the blonds. Hair tint is goldish or red. There are light and middle dark hues, but there are gold-yellow or gold-red tints in any case too. Spring type women go best with gold-yellow, honey, gold-reddish, copper-red hues when dyeing or streaking.

Eyes – natural eye colors are: delicate-blue, grey-blue, grey-green, light brown, turquoise.

Face skin color – the basic tone – cool, that’s why the skin looks tender and noble.

Fall tone type women are typical for:

Skin – 2 skin color sorts:

1. Even-light, warm ivory or goldish champagne hues.

2. Bright gold-beige or peach tones (this tint is darker than the one of the spring type and colourless).

Freckles – the fall color type is characteristic by the red or yellow-brown freckles and moles.

Lips – all women of this color type have bright lips.

Eyebrows – brown or reddish. There are thick but too light eyelashes very often.

Sun tan – fall type women get the tan not so well in comparison with the spring type one (the skin becomes red but doesn’t tan).

Hair – saturated red, gold-red, and just red tints but there are also some pretty dark nuances. Such hair color set off the skin paleness showily. If you dye your hair regularly try warm tints shot with red: from red-gold to chestnut-coloured but avoid cool bluish hues (like mahogany) as they create a poor contrast between the warm face and cold hair colors.

Eyes – amber yellow, nut-brown, dark-brown, motton blue, turquoise-blue, green and yellow-green.

Celebs of the warm skin tone: Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Fergie, Charlize Theron, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Lopez and so on.

There are colors that fit you perfectly. You look fresh and dynamic wearing them. But there are also colors that make you look tired and pale or what is worse, your skin seems to be of unhealthy red / gray-yellow tints. You probably know it by experience.

There is a relatively easy method that helps to orientate in the color problems: the so-called season theory. The thery is based on teh assumption that all people can be divided into 4 skin color types according to the seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter.

This theory will help you to distinguish your own type by the colouring of your hair, eyes, skin and will show you the color nuances on the example of red, blue and green colors.

Such knowledge will bring you lots of pleasure, especially if the success is obvious: all your wardrobe clothes fit each other.

So, let’s get to the point.

Spring and autumn are characteristic for yellow-red tints (warm) in the skin-eyes-hair pigmentation.

Summer and winter are typical for blue hues predominance (cold) in the skin-eyes-hair pigmentation.

But how to define which type you go to?

Take 2 headscarves (or whatever of the necessary colors): the 1st – cold pink tint and the 2nd – yellow salmon one. Set by turns every piece against your face and hands under the daylight.

1. Spring or fall type – cold-pink color nearness turn your skin pale and your lips blue. Yellow-salmon color, vice versa, brings some freshness to the skin making it cold a bit.

2. Winter and summer type – your skin looks fresh neara cold-pink tint contrary to the yellow-salmon hue that turns the skin into the worn-out, and makes under-eyes-circles too evident.

If you know your skin color, you can easily choose the correct makeup tints to flatter your skin. Everything will look natural to you, if the color gamut is yours!

Now all you need to do is to specify what type (cold or warm) you are:

To be continued…

There are a lot of different skin types. And it’s nessesary to know your skin type for good care and for choosing the right cosmetics products.

You can determine your skin types at home.

1. Clean your face with a skin liquid cleanser, then wash and clap dry. Wait for one hour.

2. Make note where your skin senses “tight.”

3. Pressure a separate piece of facial tissue onto each area of your face: nose, chin, center of cheeks, outer cheeks, center of forehead and outer forehead.

4. Inspect each tissue and look for oily mark or flaky skin residue.

5. See results:

If the whole tissue was oily that indicates an oily skin type.

If there is oil on only some tissues ( T-zone, which is the center of forehead, nose, chin and center of cheeks)it means you have a combination skin type.

Flaky residue on all papers, without oily marks – or a tight feeling in the skin shows a dry skin type.

No oil and no flaky on any parts of the cosmetic tissue indicates a normal skin type.
