Winter requires special care and switch of the basic moistening creams for the anti-cold ones. But if you haven’t changed everything from summer time, then use at least these easy tips to keep your skin, lips, hair and so on healthy and undamaged. Because sometimes it’s enough to use a couple of interesting ideas that can care about you well.

Lips

If your lips are dry and peel off, rub them with usual Vaseline using a wet piece of fabric or a towel. That will remove the dead cells and prevent them from getting dry again.

The lips color and smoothness usually fades in winter. So you can use a lemon juice to restore the natural lips hue.

And try to control yourself! I mean, if you have that horrible habit to lick the lips. The comments are unnecessary, I suppose.

Around-eyes-skin

Don’t be surprised at people who wear sunglasses in winter. They probably do right. The sunglasses protect the tender skin around the eyes from cold winds and snowfalls.

Lemon is a great beauty and health keeper! It’s rich in C vitamin like no other fruit or berry. And it’s so much indispensable when one gets cold or simply wants to improve the health. It’s also widely used in beauty industry to highlight the hair for instance.

Celebrity Manicurist Marina Sandoval uses the juice of a lemon to bleach yellow nail stains.

“Remove yellow stains by using pure lemon juice,’ she suggests. ‘Rub hard over nails using saturated cotton wool, then follow with a nail buffer as this also helps to rid nails of that unsightly yellow hue.”

Victoria Health Pharmacist Shabir Dayar recommends blending some lemon juice with a tiny amount of olive oil and honey to soften dry skin of the face.

“Lemon juice helps eliminate dead cells, while honey allows the resulting mixture to set, as olive oil restores the lipid levels of the skin apart and it also has regenerative properties,” he explains.

Ruby Hammer, celebrity make-up artist and co-founder of the Ruby & Millie make-up range, uses lemon as an emergency deodorant.

“Rub half a lemon under your arms – it makes a great natural deodorant,” she suggests. “You can then seal the lemon with some Clingfilm, then simply cut off a slice and use the fresh part the next day.”

Lucky are those who live in places where the humidity per cent is 55 as their nails can grow strong and long. Scientists have discovered that this is the perfect weather condition for growing long healthy nails. However, if the humidity is any higher or lower nails can be too bendy or brittle.

Stephen Eichhorn, from Britain’s Manchester University, said:

We have found that fingernails cope remarkably well over a range of humidities, but it is best not to get them completely dry or completely wet.

At an average of 55 per cent humidity, which is what you would experience normally, it appears that nails have optimum mechanical properties and resist bending.”

Roland added:

The mechanical properties of fingernails are important because of their impact in preventing damage and in maintaining their appearance.”

The experts spent months looking at different nails to ascertain the effect weather systems have on them. After knowing the weather impact the scientists might come with some solutions on brittle nails problem.

This research is not the first time the experts have studied weather effects on beauty. Hope it isn’t the last one either!

According to American scientists even the manicure can be carcinogen.

Several women in the USA have already become the patients of oncological clinic after their visits to beauty salons.

American doctors sound the alarm: more and more women get to the oncologists after the visits to the manicure salons. The reason is related to ultraviolet lamps (it’s a final stage of nail build up procedure and also one of the most popular ways of nail polish drying). Hundreds of women worldwide resort to this service annually. And as it turned out, some of them suffer skin cancer after it.

The 42-years-old American woman built-up the nail 8 times during one year and as a result she had to undergo several operations to erase the tumors from the hands. Another American (55 years old) attended a manicure salon to make a nail correction twice a month and thus developed a tumor on the right hand.

These cases were not as serious as it could be (this cancer can be treated surgically) but 4% of the patients suffer the extention of teh disease to other body parts.
