According to American scientists even the manicure can be carcinogen.
Several women in the USA have already become the patients of oncological clinic after their visits to beauty salons.
American doctors sound the alarm: more and more women get to the oncologists after the visits to the manicure salons. The reason is related to ultraviolet lamps (it’s a final stage of nail build up procedure and also one of the most popular ways of nail polish drying). Hundreds of women worldwide resort to this service annually. And as it turned out, some of them suffer skin cancer after it.
The 42-years-old American woman built-up the nail 8 times during one year and as a result she had to undergo several operations to erase the tumors from the hands. Another American (55 years old) attended a manicure salon to make a nail correction twice a month and thus developed a tumor on the right hand.
These cases were not as serious as it could be (this cancer can be treated surgically) but 4% of the patients suffer the extention of teh disease to other body parts.

We all want to have nice-looking manicure but not each of us can afford to spend much money for a saloon procedure. And this is not necessary actually as you can have a perfect manicure at home.
If you are not sure you can make it professionally my advice is to try a French manicure that is easy to do and the process doesn’t require much skillfulness.
To complete your own French manicure, begin with the following steps to prepare your nails for the procedure.
1. Using a cotton ball soaked in a nail polish remover, wipe off any old nail polish before painting your nails. Then soak them in warm water for a few minutes.
2. With the help of an orangewood stick, gently push back the cuticles so they are all even with each other once the water has softened your skin.
3. Shape your nails evenly using nail clippers, beauty scissors or a nail file.
4. Carefully paint the tip of each nail with a white hue. You may want to apply the second coat, depending on the thickness and opaqueness of the nail polish. If you put more than one coat allow your polish to dry between them.
5. Paint the entire nail with a slightly transparent pink or nude color when the tips have dried. Allow nails to dry.
6. When all the coats have dried, paint your nails with a clear topcoat to protect your new French manicure.
7. To prolong the manicure’s life paint a clear coat on each night. Make sure it has enough time to dry completely.
Everything can be even easier if you buy a French manicure kit containing a nail polish in white and pink or beige, a clear topcoat and tiny, sticky nail guides that will help you a lot. You need to place them on each nail individually, leaving a small space where the polish can spill outside the tip without tainting the rest of the nail.
Follow the steps carefully and you will make a perfect classic manicure. Of course your first time may not be as successful as you wish but with a little practice you’ll do marvels!

Perfect manicure looks great. Woman with well-groomed hands and nails has a specific attraction. She looks more feminine and cute, no matter whether she is a housewife or a business lady.
However, our energetic lifestyle, plenty of housework and lack of time to take care of ourselves lead, as a result, to the problem of split nails. Split nail is condition in which the nails become weak and fragile and split or peel off vertically in sections. Of course, we’ve heard a lot about it but when we actually have the problem to handle we understand that it is no easy at all to solve it.
Plenty of factors may lead to split nails. Among them are the following: lack of calcium, too much use of chemicals like nail polish remover or detergents, having a long contact with water, aging, etc. But the primary cause is lack of nutrition. Your diet has to include calcium, vitamins and lots of other minerals if you want to have strong and healthy nails.
Expensive remedies and creams that promise us the immediate result may not always be efficient and only few women can afford buying them every time they need nail treatment. The remedies we offer in this article are simple and easily applied at home.
Here they are:
• Use moisturizer as often as you can – each time you feel your hands are at least a bit dry, for example, after washing the dishes or clothes, after a bath or a shower, etc. It will help you to keep your nails from drying and chipping off.
• Apply vegetable oil as it is a natural remedy for curing and strengthening brittle nails. All you need to do is to take a small cotton swab with some vegetable oil and wipe it on your nails.
• Vegetable oil can be substituted by clarified butter, which is known as Ghee. It makes the nails soft and strong and promotes their growth.
• But the best is to avoid having split nails. You need to eat more nutritious food with biotin, a type of Vitamin B. Such types of food are: peanuts, lentils, egg yolks, sardines, mushrooms, bananas, liver, and cauliflower. Or you may want to take some pill-vitamins.
No matter which of the remedies you choose I wish you to have strong and beautiful nails!

Nails are those tiny parts of our body that we usually pay great attention to. We want them to be bright, nice-looking and strong.
But when creating perfect manicure we may have some small difficulties and sometimes we just don’t know how to deal with them. This post will help you to understand what to do when something goes wrong and ways to avoid such situations.
I often get polish on my cuticles.
Instead of painting right from the cuticle, place the brush on the nail bed about 1/8″ away from the cuticle and push backwards toward it, stopping just before the skin.
How do remove polish from my cuticles?
Plan ahead. Paint your nails about an hour before going to bed, leaving the messy polish on.
When having a shower the next morning, the polish will soften and peel off. Any stubborn polish still left on the skin can easily be removed by rubbing it with a soft towel. If you are in a rush for work but the polish is not dry yet you may use a cotton swab and nail polish remover to do a quick removal.
My nail polish is to thick to be applied in a thin coat
If you want your nail polish to keep well in the bottle, keep it in the refrigerator, this will extend its shelf-life.
I get bubbles
Roll the bottle between your palms, instead of shaking it. Shaking just whips bubbles into the polish. Besides, use only thin coats.
My polish keeps cracking
To avoid this try applying a thin clear coat of polish every other night.
My nails split in layers at the top
Avoid filing them as much as possible, and when you have to, file in one direction only. Don’t bend your nails forth and back. Use gloves when washing dishes and doing other household chores. Keep exposure to harsh chemicals at a minimum, especially bleach.
My nails don’t grow
If only you don’t have a type of medical condition that prevents it, your nails are growing. On average, your nails grow about 1/8 of an inch per month.
The reason why most people’s nails don’t seem to grow is because they break before they see results. Many people bite their nails, rip them off, others tend to shed or peel. They best way to see results is to start a healthy nail program with your nail technician.
