For better understanding of the makeup peculiarities of every season, let’s take a quick excursus into the fashion of the previous century.
I want to pay your attention on to the fact there are various trends in the frames of every described period. That’s why the contradictions that can appear ex facte are the enumeration of the trends distinctive features linked to the strata of society, years, events and so on.
So, if it’s necessary, the trends will be stood out additionally in the network of every period.
And now… let’s pass on to the brief resume of the world of images of the XXth.
The beginning of the XXth century – the end of the First World War.
Image peculiarities: the modesty itself and cordiality, sweet girl, selfless mother.
Eyes: barely-skin-touched makeup and transparent vaseline gloss.
Lips: the same vaseline.
Face: naturalness created with the help of pink powder.
Hair: before the war – coquettish locks, during the war – parted accurately.
Years representatives: Lillian Diana Gish, Djuna Barnes.
The twenties. Postwar time. Decadence.
Image peculiarities: vamp, boldness.
Accents: emphasized eyes and lips, using of the rich colors.
Eyes: eyeliner of the rich color (bright-blue, emerald green or violet); mascara matches the color of the eyeliner (bright-blue eyeliner and bark-blue mascara and etc.).
Eyebrows: plucked out brows are colored into the accurate black line with the lowered end.
Lips: lips are clearly countered. The lipstick is bright-red or rich-red. Lips are heart countered often.
Face: quite tender blush is applied as a round spot. The skin is smooth and matte.
Hair: short boyish haircut, accurate parting, with fringe or without, waves or straight hair.

Accents: eyes.
Eyes: eye are countered alone the lower and upper eyelids touching on the eyes corners. Lashes are thick and long (fake lashes are put on).
Eyebrows: thread-shaped plucked out brows, very thin and carefully semicircle-penciled .
Lips: accurate outlining. The colors are subdued.
Face: Cheek bones are emphasized with accurately shaded rouge.
Hair: chin-length wavy or straight hair cuts.
Years representatives: Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Joan Bennett, Jean Harlow, Vivien Leigh, Lee Miller, Edith Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford.
Winter requires special care and switch of the basic moistening creams for the anti-cold ones. But if you haven’t changed everything from summer time, then use at least these easy tips to keep your skin, lips, hair and so on healthy and undamaged. Because sometimes it’s enough to use a couple of interesting ideas that can care about you well.
Here are they:
Lips
If your lips are dry and peel off, rub them with usual Vaseline using a wet piece of fabric or a towel. That will remove the dead cells and prevent them from getting dry again.
The lips color and smoothness usually fades in winter. So you can use a lemon juice to restore the natural lips hue.
And try to control yourself! I mean, if you have that horrible habit to lick the lips. The comments are unnecessary, I suppose.
Around-eyes-skin
Don’t be surprised at people who wear sunglasses in winter. They probably do right. The sunglasses protect the tender skin around the eyes from cold winds and snowfalls.
We frown, laugh, bite our lips and cross the legs having no idea that these habits take away our natural beauty. Let’s discover why it is so and what we should forget about to keep the beauty and youth for longer.
Habit #1. To laugh and frown. No doubts, laugh is a life healer and prolonger. It stimulates the synthesis of endorphins (hormones of happiness). But it causes mimic wrinkles formation. Eyelid skin falls under laugh effect first as there appear crow’s feet, then goes around-lips skin with unattractive nasolabial wrinkles.
The habit to knit the brows leaves deep upright lines between them and frowning leads to horizontal lines on the forehead. The skin around the lips suffers much from the woman’s want to purse the lips. I admit that these facial expressions are reflexes and it’s hard to control them! But possible!
Way out. The only chance to cope with this problem by yourself is your strict control. Start with the simplest task, to smile instead of bursting out laughing, for example. To lose the habit of frowning you can try to undertake the preventive measures: stick to your forehead the thin wet cigarette paper strips for a couple of hours. They will help you to control your facial expression better. You’ll be able to keep up with it by yourself in some time.
Everyone knows the phrase “a man is known by the company he keeps”. But do you know that a woman is known by the make up she has on? It’s interesting to distinguish the make-up patterns and know which character features they indicate.
No make-up
Some women don’t use make up at all! Of course they have their own reasons for that (allergy, skin ailments and etc.). But if the non-make-up decision is taken without any apparent reason, it shows the low self-esteem. Such women are not strong advocates of femininity and rarely watch themselves.
The reasons: laziness, lack of time for me-sweety (it’s widespread among the mothers). A lot depends on the surrounding and woman’s education. Women working in men teams sometimes forget about the “coquette inside of her” and use men deodorants, perfume.
Feminism can also be a reason for non-make-up. The desire to be on the same level with men forces women to reject make-up completely. Their main and basic life position is career, as a rule. Self-absorbed women steer clear of mascara and lipstick either, as they are sure that the whole world is concentrated around them and there is no need to look nice.
I have never thought an obsession with a movie can go so far. I do find Twilight a really good film but copying everything the stars wear or do seems to me crazy. Well, it’s just my opinion, of course.
Anyway what is top trendy thanks to the vampire story is red lipstick. Why red? Because it’s the color of blood!
Not just ordinary Twilight fans love red lips now, but lots of hot celebrities as well, including such names as Agyness Deyn, Mischa Barton, Rachel Weisz, Lily Allen, Leighton Meester and Eva Herzigova.
After you’ve determined your skin color type, you are free to choose the tints of the clothes, make up and hair matching you. And on the contrary, you can easily avoid the hues that make you look ugly.
Well, I’ve got to tell it like it is. Let’s choose the make up to match the color of Fall skin type.

Use: peach tints brightening the skin.

Toners and Masking Beauty Aids
