Winter requires special care and switch of the basic moistening creams for the anti-cold ones. But if you haven’t changed everything from summer time, then use at least these easy tips to keep your skin, lips, hair and so on healthy and undamaged. Because sometimes it’s enough to use a couple of interesting ideas that can care about you well.

Here are they:

Lips

If your lips are dry and peel off, rub them with usual Vaseline using a wet piece of fabric or a towel. That will remove the dead cells and prevent them from getting dry again.

The lips color and smoothness usually fades in winter. So you can use a lemon juice to restore the natural lips hue.

And try to control yourself! I mean, if you have that horrible habit to lick the lips. The comments are unnecessary, I suppose.

Around-eyes-skin

Don’t be surprised at people who wear sunglasses in winter. They probably do right. The sunglasses protect the tender skin around the eyes from cold winds and snowfalls.

Body skin care

Constant warm clothes wearing, temperature drops and humidity lead to the skin dryness. But it’s easy to bring the skin its healthy and smooth state back. Prepare the following mixture: take olive oil, mustard oil and sesame oil in equal proportions. Massage this wholesome oils mixture around the whole body. Take a bath with all this on. It will seem as if these oils release the skin from winter stresses and you’ll feel relaxed. Your skin will forget about that irritating dryness.

If your skin suffers from overdryness, then use coconut oil as an emergency remedy. It takes a few drops to say Good Bay to the dryness.

The perfect bath for winter time contains some drops of the abovementioned oils. That’ll help keep the moisture that is possibly to be lost during the bath taking.

Nails

Nails need anti-froze protection either. Don’t neglect a nail base coat. It’s ever better if you apply double layers of nail base coat and only then your favorite polish.

Wear the mittens or gloves. Obligation! Try to develop a habit to put them on before you go out to avoid the sharp temperature drop.

Hair

If your hair looks dry, take the aloe juice and cover your hair with it massaging for several minutes. The effect is awesome.

You can also cure hair with any oil, even massage one. Just rub it into the hair roots and along the length once a week. It moistens it really great. Olive oil works miracles as well. Warm it up before applying. And attention!: too frequent oil use can cause the inverse effect. So, follow the schedule – one time per week.

Try to wash your hair as rarely as it’s possible. But if you wash it daily, then don’t do it just before going outdoors.

Headgears protect from cold but they also damage hair if they are of wool in particular. Have you noticed the lining of the fur caps? It’s silk as far as silk doesn’t damage hair and doesn’t overdry them. That’s why the silk headscarves are perfect for wearing in principle. But if it’s a kind of weird idea for you, then at least choose a headdress with silk lining.

Split hair is the problem that everyone faces with in winter time (even those who doesn’t have this problem the year round). The conclusion is to cut your hair frequently or take a special care using the modern hair products.

Have a good winter time!

The First Lady of the USA has been under the precious attention of the cameras the year round. Her style was criticized and enraptured. But no matter if you like it or not, there are some very helpful tips that that you can take into consideration.

The exclusive hairstylist and artistic style director for SoftSheen-Carson of Michelle Obama, Johnny Wright shared his professional knowledge with the public.

He considers hair as the accessory saying:

“The hair is just like any other accessory,” he told us. “You’ve really got to make it go with what you’re wearing.”

Curly cut?

“Some styles are made for hair only when it’s blown-out straight. You want a cut that’s made for both curly and straight looks,” he says. “If you’re concerned with how your hair will look wavy, ask your stylist to cut it when it’s curly, and then blow it out and fine tune when it’s straight.”

The illustrious hairstylist gives the tips on what hair tools are better:

“When it comes to textured hair, a ceramic round brush is key for keeping strands healthy and shiny, no matter how much you style it,” says Wright. For finer hair, Wright likes a rubber-based Denman Brush. “It grips the hair a little and smooths the cuticle out,” he says.

The ‘up-tuck’ matches all shapes of faces.

“I’m a big fan of what I call the up-tuck,” says Wright. “It works very well with face-framing layers, which most people have. You pin-up all the hair in the back, and then let the front fall naturally. It’s like you’ve gotten a haircut. You kind of fake them out a little bit, and it’s a great way to add versatility to your look.”

Gloss from the roots:

“People always think glossy hair is topical, but true luminous shine is achieved at the root,” says Wright. “You should be deep conditioning to soften and nourish the hair shaft every time you shampoo. There is no such thing as too much deep conditioning.” And his favorite pick – SoftSheen-Carson Roots of Nature Reconstructing Deep Treatment, which strengthens hair with a blend of shea butter and green tea.

Give your hair a day-off:

“Even women with the healthiest hair need to minimize how often they style,” says Wright. “If your hair is heavily styled and loaded with product four times a week, keep it down on the fifth day.” Everything needs to time to relax and restore.

What about ponytail?

“I’ve always been a huge fan. It highlights the beauty of a woman’s face,” he says. “A ponytail can honestly be taken from day to night if it’s done properly. For the cocktail party, simply wrap a strand around the elastic and you’ve got an elegant look.” Or, dress up the entire style by parting your hair on the side before gathering it at the base of your neck.

Hair protection:

“Be sure you’re using protective guards on your hair. Thermal protecting sprays create a barrier on the hair shaft, and keep the heat from penetrating into that inner core, which is what causes permanent damage.”

What elastics are in his kit?

“I carry a range of Goody colored elastics in my kit,” he says. “I always make sure that the band matches the hair color of the person I’m working with. It’s an easy way to make a style look elegant.” The stylist also prefers matching hair pins as well.

Natural updos:

“I like updos that look very simple and natural,” says Wright. “People try to make their hair a little too perfect with updos, and that’s where it goes wrong.” Wright likes a low, gathered chignon where the face-framing pieces are left out. “Then I’ll twist and pin the front strands around that ponytail. In the back, it looks loose and free, like every hair is where it wants to be. Honestly, the messier the better.”

I think we should at least consider the opinion of the US First Lady hairstylist.

Hair thickness not always depends on the expansive products or super salons procedures. Old proven recipes are sometimes much better. One of the main components of such recipes is the capsicum extract. I think, it’s the best hair growth boosting product.

The effect of the capsicum extract is based on the following mechanism: alcohol steams out the skin warming it up. Due to the blood circulation stimulation hair bulbs receive more nourishing components as if rejuvenating them. Hair start growing intensively, acquire gloss and strength.

You can buy capsicum extract in any drugstore or prepare it at home.

Take 5-6 red papers, cut them and put into the bottle with alcohol. Let id brew for a week. And the extract is ready for use.

There are lots of the recipes on the bases of the capsicum extract.

You can simply mix it with burdock oil and apply onto the head skin two times a week.

One more perfect nourishing recipe. Take 1 tbsp capsicum extract, cognac, oil (vegetable or burdock), lemon, honey, and 1 egg yolk. Stir it well. These ingredients are hard to mix that’s why be patient. After you finish, apply the mask onto the head skin and along the hair, cover it with polyethylene and then with a towel to create a hothouse conditions. Leave the mask on for half an hour and then shampoo it off. The result is shining healthy hair.

Feel free to vary the ingredients of this recipe. One can add mustard powder or kefir to the mixture.

There can be anything to be applied onto the hair. As they say, everything for the result.

Remember, that capsicum extract is the great but very burning product. Avoid getting the extract on to the eyes and wash your hands carefully after putting it on. If you decide to rub the extract into the head skin, dilute it with water. Watch your sensations: if it burns not so hard, then don’t dilute it at all.

The masks for the rubbing can be done a couple of times per week along the month or longer.

But recently she proved the saying “Beauty knows no pain” on her twitter talk with her fans. The socialite shared how painful the hair styling processes are.

After posing for a series of photos with caramel, chocolate and blonde strips in her hair, Kim said she had to endure all those procedures to keep her hair looking good for the photo shoots but all those hair-thickening and lengthening procedures were painful.

She tweeted:

“Do you like the streaks? Those blonde streaks were extensions that they glued in for a shoot! It took hours to get them out and now I have this glue in my hair! Torture!”

The 29-year-old beauty also took to the social networking site to boast about her latest fashion obsession.

Kim posted a photograph of her latest purchase, a pair of flat, thigh-high brown leather boots.

She wrote:

“Obsessed with my Stuart Weiztman thigh high leather flat boots!!!!!”

When I see a woman or a girl with curly hair I want to have the same as it look always great and you don’t need to roll them up for the whole night. But it appears that women who possess this treasure try to straighten them all life long.

It is a pity. But if you have the same intensions, here are some curls care tips you need to know.

Masks for Dry Hair

Blend 5 oz vegetable marrow (if it’s young, don’t peel) and press out the liquid. Add 0.5 glass of milk and 1 tbsp olive oil. Stir it thoroughly and apply onto the hair. Rinse off the mask in 20 minutes.

Mix up 1 egg yellow, 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil, 1 tea spoon honey, 1 tea spoon henna and 1 tea spoon cognac. Put the gruel onto the hair evenly and leave it there for 30-40 min. then rinse off with warm water.

There are lots of good responses about the Iranian henna and black hair dye. They strengthen the roots of hair, bring elasticity to the locks and create a sort of the protective cover on the hair surface.

If you are a curly blond, then rinse your hair with chamomile tincture.

What do you need to know about the curls?

Care

Let hair dry without hair dryer as often as possible.

To keep hair healthy, follow 3 main rules: use neutral PH shampoo, rinse hair with cool water and comb them daily hanging the head down.

Don’t neglect special masks for curly hair. Practice them at least one time per week.

Use a wooden comb.

Dyeing

The more often you dye curls, the more they “rebel”. Use toning products instead of the dyeing if possible.

Haircut

Short cuts (excluding the ultra-short boyish ones) are not a variant for curly and frizzy hair. Natural curls are rarity. Wear them long – it looks beautiful.

Outdoors

Lot of ultraviolet is harmful for both skin and hair. Don’t go outdoors without a hat, cap, and kerchief taking into the consideration the fact that they are in vogue this season. Protect hair with the help of thermoactive gel or indelible conditioner.

Hair straightening

It’s pretty hard to do straightening at home with the use of hair drier or iron. Stylists recommend undergoing this procedure while they are wet. To improve the result, use a big brush. And after they are dry. Use a cream or gel to fix what you’ve got.

Don’t try iron with metal plates!

If you can’t cope with it at home, then go to the salon where you’ll be provided with the “chemistry” but inside out. But remember that hair is in extreme need of special restoring care after such experiments.

There’s something purely romantic and glamorously authentic about French beauty products, don’t you think?

Here’s L’OCCITANE, a French beauty company specializing in organic skin, hair and body care, organic fragrances for both men and women.

The brand was established in 1976 by Olivier Baussan in the small town of Manosque, France.

Baussan drew his inspiration from Mediterranean art de vivre and traditional techniques to create natural beauty products devoted to well-being and the pleasure of taking care of oneself.

“The sun, the products of the soil and a love of nature are the essence of my Provence. It is this essence I want to share with the world. It is what inspired me to create L’OCCITANE,” Olivier Baussan says.

French soaps, shampoos, hair/skin/body care products and fragrances feature natural and organic ingredients such as lavender, shea butter and verbena, among others.

What we like about L’OCCITANE is that they use essential oils rather than mineral oils that are a lot more organic.

Another good thing about the company is that it’s totally environmental-friendly. Experts don’t test products on animals, use recyclable packaging and sustainable technologies keeping environment in mind.

Another L’OCCITANE feature that definitely appeals to us is that the company develops its product formulas according to the principles of phytotherapy and aromatherapy, and tries its best to stick to as many natural ingredients in the products as it’s naturally possible. While using synthetic molecules experts make sure all the products are created under dermatological and medical supervision.

And the next best thing is that a massive part of L’OCCITANE beauty products (78%, to be exact) are paraben-free, while face care products (with the exception of sun care products) contain a maximum of 5% silicones. Besides, phthalates are never used for making fragrances.

Bringing together tradition, nature and research, L’OCCITANE claims its main focus is pleasure in a form of “a delicious moment of well-being and sensory delight.”

P.S. Try the French soaps, they’re wonderful!

Everyone who has straight hair seems pretty evident that curls are the gift of nature. Then why do the curly-haired women complain about the unruly character of the locks and dream to straighten them up?

The appearance of hair depends on the form of the hair follicle. People with curly hair, it reminds a coma. The hair grown out of this follicle is curled as well that’s why it has a more porous structure.

Keratin cuticle of hair covering it from the outside distributed unevenly bristles all the time and unprotected against the dust, smog, rain and snow. It’s also the reason why they don’t shine almost. They are dry and split a lot along the hair. But the roots of the curls are inclined to the greasiness.

One more problem of this hair is the much talked-about “dandelion effect”: short walk under the rain or at the damp weather (after a hard styling!) – and you get a mop of hair!

How to tame the unruling hair…

Healthy washing

The main task of the hair shampooing is to cover the porous cells of the hair to keep the moisture inside of it. That’s why the locks are in need of the special hair cosmetics. The more natural components are in the product, the better. You need the cosmetic product that soothe the structure of the curly hair and stabilizers that takes off the dielectric stress providing the obedient locks.

Orientate both on the hair type when choosing the washing products: dry hair, normal, oily or combined hair; and its structure: soft, coarse, thin or thick one. Trichologist or a master in a salon can help you to distinguish these characteristics.

The shampoo for dry hair requiring softening and moistening should include the extracts of coconut oil, jojoba or licorice, cornflower, white lotus and winterbloom in its content. And fragile, thin and split hair needs strengthening and protection: nettle, sage and vitamins.

Forget about volume shampoos forever! Their aim is to lift up the hair scales causing its fragility disobedience. In our case we need softness and flexibility.
Massage the head skin with almond oil before shampooing. That will activate the blood circulation and improve the nourishing of the hair bulb, smooth out the unruly locks and bring them healthy gloss. Shampoo your hair 1 time per 2-3 days diluting it with water a bit.

Soft character

Balsam is the basic nourishing remedy. It patches the hair providing additional nourishing. And the conditioner use will help avoid the ‘dandelion effect’, ease the styling process and grant you the beguiling silkiness. Pick out the products that contain silicon fractions as this component can pacify even African head of hair.

If you want your hair curl less, then brush them just after applying the balm and wash them well under the running water after that. Put the towel onto the shoulders and let your hair dry off not wiping them!

One of the best helpers is a special regenerative cream for curly hair that doesn’t require after-washing. Apply it onto the clean wet hair, spread it along the hair length as if you sleek hair (but very carefully!). You’ll see soon how quickly it makes hair soft and gentle.

Apply hair nourishing masks 1 time a week. The mask gives a shield along the hair.

Hair comb

Competent drying is a half of success. To stir clear off the laurels of Angela Davis, stay away from the hairdryer as often as it’s possible as a hot air overdries the damaged and dry hair.

Of course, there are situations when you can’t do it without this helping tool but in this case you should dry only the tips with the assistance of diffuser. But don’t dry the hair roots, on no account.

Now brushing! This should be a very gentle procedure! First of all get rid of all your hairbrushs (metal in particular) and purchase a comb. The best one is that is antistatic covered. Don’t tug your locks and don’t start combing them from the roots down. One wrong move and your comb will be in captivity. Begin from the tips and up gradually.

Giving shape

To style curly hair trendy and accurately at the same time is practically impossible. The simplest way is to put onto the wet locks some mousse or gel and give it time to dry off. You will get a-la “back from the beach” hairdo. Lots of stylists recommend plaiting hair and arranging it around the head. Talking about the “express” hairdos, it’s high time to recall for the ponytail. Curly hair gathered in the bun looks pretty sexy.
