Meester was recently asked of her prior experience with Herbal Essences products before signing with the brand.

She told WWD:

“My first memory is those iconic commercials back in the day. My mom used it, too—the kind with the clear bottle with the flowers. Now it has a new look and everything is different. I started using it because Charles [Baker Strahan, Leighton’s hairdresser] uses it and he [is Herbal Essences’ spokesperson].”

Lips

If your lips are dry and peel off, rub them with usual Vaseline using a wet piece of fabric or a towel. That will remove the dead cells and prevent them from getting dry again.

The lips color and smoothness usually fades in winter. So you can use a lemon juice to restore the natural lips hue.

And try to control yourself! I mean, if you have that horrible habit to lick the lips. The comments are unnecessary, I suppose.

Around-eyes-skin

Don’t be surprised at people who wear sunglasses in winter. They probably do right. The sunglasses protect the tender skin around the eyes from cold winds and snowfalls.

Body skin care

Constant warm clothes wearing, temperature drops and humidity lead to the skin dryness. But it’s easy to bring the skin its healthy and smooth state back. Prepare the following mixture: take olive oil, mustard oil and sesame oil in equal proportions. Massage this wholesome oils mixture around the whole body. Take a bath with all this on. It will seem as if these oils release the skin from winter stresses and you’ll feel relaxed. Your skin will forget about that irritating dryness.

If your skin suffers from overdryness, then use coconut oil as an emergency remedy. It takes a few drops to say Good Bay to the dryness.

The perfect bath for winter time contains some drops of the abovementioned oils. That’ll help keep the moisture that is possibly to be lost during the bath taking.

Nails

Nails need anti-froze protection either. Don’t neglect a nail base coat. It’s ever better if you apply double layers of nail base coat and only then your favorite polish.

Wear the mittens or gloves. Obligation! Try to develop a habit to put them on before you go out to avoid the sharp temperature drop.

Hair

If your hair looks dry, take the aloe juice and cover your hair with it massaging for several minutes. The effect is awesome.

You can also cure hair with any oil, even massage one. Just rub it into the hair roots and along the length once a week. It moistens it really great. Olive oil works miracles as well. Warm it up before applying. And attention!: too frequent oil use can cause the inverse effect. So, follow the schedule – one time per week.

Try to wash your hair as rarely as it’s possible. But if you wash it daily, then don’t do it just before going outdoors.

Headgears protect from cold but they also damage hair if they are of wool in particular. Have you noticed the lining of the fur caps? It’s silk as far as silk doesn’t damage hair and doesn’t overdry them. That’s why the silk headscarves are perfect for wearing in principle. But if it’s a kind of weird idea for you, then at least choose a headdress with silk lining.

Split hair is the problem that everyone faces with in winter time (even those who doesn’t have this problem the year round). The conclusion is to cut your hair frequently or take a special care using the modern hair products.

The exclusive hairstylist and artistic style director for SoftSheen-Carson of Michelle Obama, Johnny Wright shared his professional knowledge with the public.

He considers hair as the accessory saying:

“The hair is just like any other accessory,” he told us. “You’ve really got to make it go with what you’re wearing.”

Curly cut?

“Some styles are made for hair only when it’s blown-out straight. You want a cut that’s made for both curly and straight looks,” he says. “If you’re concerned with how your hair will look wavy, ask your stylist to cut it when it’s curly, and then blow it out and fine tune when it’s straight.”

The illustrious hairstylist gives the tips on what hair tools are better:

“When it comes to textured hair, a ceramic round brush is key for keeping strands healthy and shiny, no matter how much you style it,” says Wright. For finer hair, Wright likes a rubber-based Denman Brush. “It grips the hair a little and smooths the cuticle out,” he says.

The ‘up-tuck’ matches all shapes of faces.

“I’m a big fan of what I call the up-tuck,” says Wright. “It works very well with face-framing layers, which most people have. You pin-up all the hair in the back, and then let the front fall naturally. It’s like you’ve gotten a haircut. You kind of fake them out a little bit, and it’s a great way to add versatility to your look.”

Gloss from the roots:

“People always think glossy hair is topical, but true luminous shine is achieved at the root,” says Wright. “You should be deep conditioning to soften and nourish the hair shaft every time you shampoo. There is no such thing as too much deep conditioning.” And his favorite pick – SoftSheen-Carson Roots of Nature Reconstructing Deep Treatment, which strengthens hair with a blend of shea butter and green tea.

Give your hair a day-off:

“Even women with the healthiest hair need to minimize how often they style,” says Wright. “If your hair is heavily styled and loaded with product four times a week, keep it down on the fifth day.” Everything needs to time to relax and restore.

What about ponytail?

“I’ve always been a huge fan. It highlights the beauty of a woman’s face,” he says. “A ponytail can honestly be taken from day to night if it’s done properly. For the cocktail party, simply wrap a strand around the elastic and you’ve got an elegant look.” Or, dress up the entire style by parting your hair on the side before gathering it at the base of your neck.

Hair protection:

“Be sure you’re using protective guards on your hair. Thermal protecting sprays create a barrier on the hair shaft, and keep the heat from penetrating into that inner core, which is what causes permanent damage.”

What elastics are in his kit?

“I carry a range of Goody colored elastics in my kit,” he says. “I always make sure that the band matches the hair color of the person I’m working with. It’s an easy way to make a style look elegant.” The stylist also prefers matching hair pins as well.

Natural updos:

“I like updos that look very simple and natural,” says Wright. “People try to make their hair a little too perfect with updos, and that’s where it goes wrong.” Wright likes a low, gathered chignon where the face-framing pieces are left out. “Then I’ll twist and pin the front strands around that ponytail. In the back, it looks loose and free, like every hair is where it wants to be. Honestly, the messier the better.”

I think we should at least consider the opinion of the US First Lady hairstylist.

The effect of the capsicum extract is based on the following mechanism: alcohol steams out the skin warming it up. Due to the blood circulation stimulation hair bulbs receive more nourishing components as if rejuvenating them. Hair start growing intensively, acquire gloss and strength.

You can buy capsicum extract in any drugstore or prepare it at home.

• Take 5-6 red papers, cut them and put into the bottle with alcohol. Let id brew for a week. And the extract is ready for use.

There are lots of the recipes on the bases of the capsicum extract.

You can simply mix it with burdock oil and apply onto the head skin two times a week.

• One more perfect nourishing recipe. Take 1 tbsp capsicum extract, cognac, oil (vegetable or burdock), lemon, honey, and 1 egg yolk. Stir it well. These ingredients are hard to mix that’s why be patient. After you finish, apply the mask onto the head skin and along the hair, cover it with polyethylene and then with a towel to create a hothouse conditions. Leave the mask on for half an hour and then shampoo it off. The result is shining healthy hair.

Feel free to vary the ingredients of this recipe. One can add mustard powder or kefir to the mixture.

There can be anything to be applied onto the hair. As they say, everything for the result.

Remember, that capsicum extract is the great but very burning product. Avoid getting the extract on to the eyes and wash your hands carefully after putting it on. If you decide to rub the extract into the head skin, dilute it with water. Watch your sensations: if it burns not so hard, then don’t dilute it at all.

The masks for the rubbing can be done a couple of times per week along the month or longer.

Everything is for the result.

After posing for a series of photos with caramel, chocolate and blonde strips in her hair, Kim said she had to endure all those procedures to keep her hair looking good for the photo shoots but all those hair-thickening and lengthening procedures were painful.

She tweeted:

“Do you like the streaks? Those blonde streaks were extensions that they glued in for a shoot! It took hours to get them out and now I have this glue in my hair! Torture!”

The 29-year-old beauty also took to the social networking site to boast about her latest fashion obsession.

Kim posted a photograph of her latest purchase, a pair of flat, thigh-high brown leather boots.

She wrote:

“Obsessed with my Stuart Weiztman thigh high leather flat boots!!!!!”
