Lipstick covers the chicks and eye brows of the model. The face is overpowered either. So, the makeup looks strange, so to say.

She is getting ready for her Dancing with The Stars debut and she’s already spent $35,000 on her makeover and several plastic procedures to look perfect on camera.
“Kate thinks Dancing With the Stars will put her on Hollywood’s A-list,” claims an insider. “She feels she needs to look her best, so she gave herself a major makeover. She went from hating the way she looked to loving her new appearance.”
She is said to have had Botox injections, Restylane fillers, laser resurfacing, veneers, hair extensions and highlights, eyelash extensions and eyebrow shaping. And that doesn’t include the cost of her regular spray tans and professional makeup applications.
The resume, if you aren’t ready to spend fifty-odd bucks, no one will book you in the Hollywood celebs list! Such a ridiculous thing! Who cares?
The spring heat is knocking at the door already. The colors around become brighter, fresher and warmer. The makeup trends for this Spring and following Summer 2010 are natural and sexy. Want to know what to wear on your face? To be trendy, follow the trends and create your style.
Before I describe the make up offered by the illustrious designers at their Spring Summer 2010 collections, I’ll resume the S/S 2010 makeup trends.
Eyes
Natural look of the eyes is emphasized with natural skin colors if any. The eye shadows are in tender pink, violet, blue, orange, emerald green, bronze and white colors. Liquid eyeliners are in use again countering the upper lids. Eye lashes are barely touched with mascara (black and brown). However, feel free to go bare-lashed as well.
Eye brows
Thick and natural eye brows are super trendy this season. They can be bleached, brown colored or on the contrary outlined with dark pencil.
Cheeks
Cheeks are blushed with pink or bronze hues.
Skin
If talking about face skin, the preference is given to the clean naturalness. The powder used is matte.
Lips
Lips are covered with colorless lip glosses, brow or bright red lipstick hues.
If you have your own style including make up, sometimes it’s interesting to do something new to look different from your ordinary image you’ve got used to.

For better understanding of the makeup peculiarities of every season, let’s take a quick excursus into the fashion of the previous century.
I want to pay your attention on to the fact there are various trends in the frames of every described period. That’s why the contradictions that can appear ex facte are the enumeration of the trends distinctive features linked to the strata of society, years, events and so on.
So, if it’s necessary, the trends will be stood out additionally in the network of every period.
And now… let’s pass on to the brief resume of the world of images of the XXth.
The beginning of the XXth century – the end of the First World War.
Image peculiarities: the modesty itself and cordiality, sweet girl, selfless mother.
Eyes: barely-skin-touched makeup and transparent vaseline gloss.
Lips: the same vaseline.
Face: naturalness created with the help of pink powder.
Hair: before the war – coquettish locks, during the war – parted accurately.

The twenties. Postwar time. Decadence.
Image peculiarities: vamp, boldness.
Accents: emphasized eyes and lips, using of the rich colors.
Eyes: eyeliner of the rich color (bright-blue, emerald green or violet); mascara matches the color of the eyeliner (bright-blue eyeliner and bark-blue mascara and etc.).
Eyebrows: plucked out brows are colored into the accurate black line with the lowered end.
Lips: lips are clearly countered. The lipstick is bright-red or rich-red. Lips are heart countered often.
Face: quite tender blush is applied as a round spot. The skin is smooth and matte.
Hair: short boyish haircut, accurate parting, with fringe or without, waves or straight hair.
Years representatives: Gloria Swanson, Theda Bara, Pola Negri, Constance Talmadge, Mary Louise Brooks, Clara Bow, Marjorie Brooks.
The thirties. Goddesses in men’ trousers.
Image peculiarities: refinement.
Accents: eyes.
Eyes: eye are countered alone the lower and upper eyelids touching on the eyes corners. Lashes are thick and long (fake lashes are put on).
Eyebrows: thread-shaped plucked out brows, very thin and carefully semicircle-penciled .
Lips: accurate outlining. The colors are subdued.
Face: Cheek bones are emphasized with accurately shaded rouge.
Hair: chin-length wavy or straight hair cuts.
Years representatives: Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Joan Bennett, Jean Harlow, Vivien Leigh, Lee Miller, Edith Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford.
The times of plucking the eyebrows pass by gradually. Natural and not plucked eyebrows become more and more popular. But what to do if you used to pluck those all you life and now want to have them back?
Permanent makeup is the procedure that not every woman wants to undergo as the eyebrows look quite unnatural. What about hair transplant surgery?
In the past few years, hair transplant surgery has become advanced. Previously, it was almost impossible to copy the natural angle and growth of the eyebrow and lashes.
Now, one follicle can be implanted at a time, and surgeons are able to control the precise angle of the hair, which is very acute in eyebrows. This know-how can now be used to implant hairs into the eye lash line either.
Dr Bessam Farjo, who has been working on hair loss treatments and transplants since 1992, explains the procedure goes: a very thin strip of skin (6-7 cm long, and 4-5mm wide) is taken from the area of the scalp where the hair is softest. The surgeon then removes each hair from the piece of skin with a thin needle. Next, he makes up to 50 tiny incisions with a scalpel where the eyebrow should be, and, using a needle, inserts each hair follicle into the incisions.
The 30-year-old Mary Hornby from Sale in Greater Manchester, underwent an eyebrow transplant done by Dr Farjo. She began plucking her brows at just 14:
“I would over-pluck and be left with pencil-thin eyebrows, which at the time didn’t bother me. As I got older and wanted a fuller shape and I tried to grow them out. But repeated plucking had meant they had stopped growing.”
The operation last for three hours:
“It was completely painless and all done under local anaesthetic,” she says.
The happy patient also added:
“It took about six months for me to start seeing the results, but now I couldn’t be more thrilled. Dr Farjo has done an amazing job, easily surpassing my expectations and leaving me with beautiful, natural, full eyebrows.”
Eyelash transplants are more complicated, because of the delicate nature of the eyelid.
The prices for the procedures vary depending on the treatment required but in general the eyebrow transplantation costs around £3,500, and the eyelashes about £3,000.
I wonder why sometimes things that don’t look beautiful become fashion trends. For example, I have never seen a girl who looked nice with bleached eyebrows. Even Lara Stone, who is always perfect, doesn’t seem to me attractive with absolutely white ones! This is something I will never be able to understand. It’s the same as if we all would like to become yellow or red, why not? Interesting and unusual…
Brow trends change slower than others but they do. For some time we enjoyed more natural-looking normal-shaped brows and now viola – peroxide blonde eyebrows appear! They aren’t pencil-thin or too bushy, still normal-sized but entirely white.
Blonde eyebrows become more and more popular. We have seen them on Lara Stone, Alla Kostromicheva, Ranya Mordanova, Adriana Lima and Katlin Aas.
