Peter Lindbergh is pretty fond of the idea of showing the celebrities from their other side. Last time he has presented the photoshoot with Eva Herzigova, Ines de la Fressange, Monica Bellucci and a slew of European actresses without make up or retouching for French Elle.

A month later he told the New York Times that he was fed up with the subjects in fashion magazines looking like overly-Photoshopped “objects from Mars”:

My feeling is that for years now it has taken a much too big part in how women are being visually defined today. Heartless retouching should not be the chosen tool to represent women in the beginning of this century.”

Famour fashion house Dolce & Gabbana presented new fragrances inspired by “women’s personality traits”.

Later this month the Italian designing duo releases their new line of perfumes with various numbers and names, representing certain female characteristic.

The five fragrances, Le Bateleur 1, L’Imperatrice 3, L’Amoureaux 6, La Roue de la Fortune 10 and La Lune 18, were “inspired by different tarot cards, each with a distinct identity and represented by a different model, some of them iconic and all of them naked in the advertisement.

They think there is something for every woman.

Nice smelling, diverse, original and adorable.

Stefano Gabbana explained:

The names and numbers on the bottles relate to tarot cards. Tarot is very common in Mediterranean countries and conveys the different aspects of people’s personalities.”

Domenico Dolce added:

We picked the tarot cards with the clearest, most identifiable traits such as the seducer, charmer and dreamer. We can all relate to these characters.”

Eight European celebrities agreed to pose for the Elle multiple covers un-retouched and without any make up. The photo shoot is titled – Stars Sans Fards that can be loosely translated as “without makeup” but suggests a sense of openness in French.

Shot by the famous photographer, Peter Lindbergh, 3 cover girls – Monica Bellucci, Eva Herzigova, and Sophie Marceau look charming!

French Elle editor, Isabelle Maury, said that only Lindbergh could manage to convince the stars to go bare and un-retouched.

Though, the celebs went through the usual hair and  make up routines before the photo shoot.
