Twiggy – face of Olay again!
It seems impossible but 25 years after she was the face of the company first time Twiggy is invited to represent it again.
She was the world’s first supermodel as the face for Olay, back in 1985. And now when she is almost 60 they decided she was the best person to front a 12-month magazine campaign for Olay Definity. What a luck!
Twiggy, whose real name is Lesley Hornby, feels really happy about it:
I am delighted to be fronting the new advertising campaign for Olay Definity – like many women I trust Olay to meet my specific skincare needs.”
Sarah Clark, spokesperson for Olay Definity, comments:
We were thrilled to welcome Twiggy back to the brand.
She is a true beauty Icon who continues to be an inspiration to millions of women across the UK.”
Twiggy was discovered at the age of 16 by modelling boss Nigel Davies. It happened in 1966. At that time she got immediately popular with the British public due to her waiflike look.
In a few weeks the girl became the ‘Face of 66′ and one year later pictures of Twiggy wearing a boyish haircut and long eyelashes were everywhere on billboards of New York.
Later on Twiggy started acting and even received two Golden Globes for her part in Ken Russell’s 1971 film version of Sandy Wilson’s musical, ‘The Boy Friend’.
Besides, she had a pop career. She released a number of hit albums.
And in 1985 she was chosen to be the face of Olay and worked for the company for 12 months.
After leaving the beauty company she resumed her acting career and appeared in television programs and films both in the US and Europe.
Despite her age Twiggy is still a respected person in the music, acting and fashion worlds. For example, in 2005 she was invited as a judge on the reality TV show America’s Next Top Model.
Good life, fruitful career. Wish her good luck and perfect health!
