Stella McCartney Will Launch New Fragrance Called ‘L.I.L.Y’
Designer Stella McCartney is soon to release her second fragrance called 'L.I.L.Y'. Inspired by a lily of the valley the designer wanted to create a fragrance that is not overwhelming but mingles both feminine and masculine sides of the flower.
Fashion designer Stella McCartney will launch her second fragrance called ‘L.I.L.Y’ in March, 2012. The fragrance took three years to develop. It was created by Jacques Cavallier who has also developed the designer’s first fragrance Stella.
It comes from my dad’s nickname for my mum: ‘Linda I love you.’
The name is also from the lily of the valley ingredient — I love it as a flower, and so did my mum — it’s delicate, feminine, innocent. It was part of my bridal bouquet. But I also wanted to explore its darker, more masculine side. It’s a woodland flower and I wanted to capture the roots and the earthy side of it,
Stella McCartney told WWD.
‘L.I.L.Y’ fragrance consists of lily of the valley, oak moss and truffle notes. The designer said she wanted the fragrance to be “uncomplicated”. The campaign for the fragrance was shot by David Sims starring beautiful model Malgosia Bela in her thirties.
I wanted someone who was not 14, and you can see she’s wearing hardly any makeup. You can see her freckles and skin.
The fragrance will also come in other products like lotions, roller balls, shower gels. What do you think?
