Marni To Launch First Fragrance
Fashion house Marni is to launch its first fragrance in February 2013. Fronted by model Raquel Zimmermann the campaign for the scent is already shot and the bottle revealed. Marni’s creative director, Consuelo Castiglioni described perfume as “individual”:
The perfume reflects Marni’s fashion, certainly. Because it’s a perfume that’s quite individual, that doesn’t evoke anything in particular. It’s for a woman who dresses for herself, who doesn’t follow trends but is sophisticated and also maybe a little eccentric.
Marni’s scent which was called after the brand will retail at $105 to $155 and will come in bottles of various sizes. The bottle is in interesting rounded shape and features polka dots and a red cap.
I wanted a bottle that was kind of traditional, that is, one that lasts over time, like the clothes we make, which last and you can still wear two or three years from now. It isn’t seasonal. I think this bottle reflects our concept — you want to keep it. It also has the dots, which are part of our world, and a play on proportions with the cap. These elements are also important in our fashion.
said Consuelo Castiglioni.
This year fashion brand Marchesa released their first fragrance in September. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen are to launch a first prestige fragrance under their Elizabeth & James brand as well. More and more fashion brands branching out to the beauty department. What do you think about it?
