Lady Gaga Revealed She Suffered From Bulimia

Lady Gaga is one of the biggest stars of nowadays but she is not afraid to speak about her weaknesses and troubles. During the Young Women’s conference called It’s Our Turn the singer confessed she was bulimic in her teenage years but was able to cope with the problem.

Lady Gaga told she had an obsession with having a ‘skinny ballerina body’ and used to throw up a lot in High School.

She said:

I used to throw up all the time in high school. So I’m not that confident. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night.

I used to come home and say, ‘Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin.’ And he’d say, ‘Eat your spaghetti.’ It’s really hard, But … you’ve got to talk to somebody about it.”

Lady Gaga said it was her love to music and the fact her voice was suffering from bulimia that made her stop herself.

She said:

It made my voice bad, so I had to stop. The acid on your vocal chords — it’s very bad.”
The singer also mentioned that even now she has struggles with weight issues: Weight is still a struggle. Every video I’m in, every magazine cover, they stretch you – they make you perfect. It’s not real life.”

She also addressed young girls striving to have a model-size body:

I’m gonna say this about girls: The dieting wars have got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it’s affecting kids your age. And it’s making girls sick.”

Considering the fact Lady Gaga is one of the biggest names in the industry now she may have the influence on the younger generation of girls who go bulimic to get the desired figures.
