Finally Reese Witherspoon In Bloom with Avon

Reese Witherspoon and Avon finally launched the new fragrance In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon in Times Square on Wednesday (October 28) in New York City.

The 33-year-old actress looked fabulous wearing a gorgeous L’Wren Scott dress from the Spring 2010 collection.

The Legally Blonde star told People:

“I just wanted a scent memory of my childhood in Tennessee growing up. A lot of it is white flowers and gardenias and things that I grew up in the backyard loving. Things that I smelled on my mother and my grandmother that really inspired a feeling of being back home.”

Reese has spent two years developing In Bloom for Avon.

“We started with a set of ideas … about sensory memories, what it was like growing up in Tennessee and what I remember of my mother and my grandmother wearing perfume-wise.”

On her child memories:

“A large part of my childhood was spent in my yard with a gigantic magnolia tree, so I knew it had to have magnolia in it.”

She revealed her grandmother was part of the inspiration:

“When my grandmother was done with the perfume, she would give me the bottle so that there was just a little bit left. I remember thinking, ‘It’s so beautiful having these things sitting on your dresser”

The Walk The Line actress still feels homesick for Tennessee. She lives in Los Angeles with her children Ava, 10, and five-year-old Deacon, but home is home!

“Sometimes it’s really difficult for me, being far away from home and living in Los Angeles. I never imagined that my children wouldn’t grow up next door to my brother’s children – or my mom and dad wouldn’t constantly be around.”

I admire charming Reese! I won’t lose a sec and will pick up this scent.

   I haven’t seen walk the line yet, but I guess I will have to see it. Most of the reviews I read say it is really great.
