Designers Do Makeup: Anthony Vaccarello for Lancome
More and more designers are going into beauty as it became an inseparable part of fashion. Nothing goes unnoticed during fashion week so having one’s own collection of, say, nail polishes like Christian Louboutin makes for a cute accessory to the main event/thing. It also helps to keep the brand name in press and allows for more people to afford something from a designer. Kind of reminds us of the surge of democratic fashion brand collaborations with designers that boomed a couple of years ago.

This year Christopher Kane went to collaborate with Nars on a summer makeup collection while Anthony Vaccarello went with Lancome who have a designer collaboration experience with Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz to create a fall line of eyeshadow pallettes that go beyond basic nudes.
The designer wanted to create some rich colors and he succeeded. The three pallettes come in rich gold, blue, and green jewel tones that are complemented by one highlighting and basic black shade per pallette. The rest of the colors are monochromatic and are already available for purchase.
With Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and Versace having their own beauty lines and Charlotte Olympia announced the next collaborator of MAC for Spring 2016 collection, who will be the next to try their hand in makeup or even branch out into the beauty industry altogether? Or who do you think should, anyway?
