Adam Levine Launches Fragrances For Men and Women
Adam Levine Launches Fragrances
His infamous tweet “I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward,” gets back to Adam Levine in every article covering the debut of his fragrances for men and women. The Maroon 5 lead singer who launches the his and her scents this February told WWD that:
I didn’t want it to be another bulls**t celebrity fragrance that I was hocking, that I didn’t believe in. At the end of the day, I can definitely say I wanted to change the perception of that. On paper, I’m not a fan of the [genre], but I got excited having conversations with ID Perfumes.
The singer told People magazine about the ‘stigma’ attached to a celebrity fragrance saying: “A stigma that I fully understand because I, too, hate the idea of a celebrity fragrance, absolutely, 100 percent.” Nevertheless his interest in fashion overtook he decided to do the thing “properly”.
Levine’s perfumes will launch this month at Macy’s stores in the US with worlwide distribution in plans. The singer’s line of scents is called Adam Levine and consists of an eau de parfum for women and an eau de toilette for men. About the style the singer told WWD:
I wanted to do something understated and elegant — something that people I revere in that world, like Tom Ford, would do, and something I’d be attracted to. I like basic fragrances. I didn’t want to smell like a department store. And there’s an intimacy level that you have to think about. You don’t really want someone to smell you unless they’re really close to you.
The women’s eau de perfume includes the notes of rose petals, vanilla, Indian jasmine petals, and Australian sandalwood while the eau de toilette for men has notes of mandarin, grapefruit, sandalwood, cedarwood, lemongrass and amber.
The microphone=shaped bottles will be available at $36 and $65. What do you think?
