2013 Victoria’s Secret Show was a blast. Forty models, six themes, tons of glitter and of course creative sexy lingerie-based costumes have made this show as exiting as the previous ones. Taylor Swift was an invited music guest and Candice Swanepoel wore the bra. But what concerns us most is the backstage beauty magic and models’ fitness secrets.

The models had their hair done in a signature Victoria’s Secret manner. The bed hair was accented with light waves that made everyone all look instantly glamorous and runway-ready. The lingerie brand worked together with GHD to create voluminous glam hair.

The makeup included brown smokey eyes and highlighted inner corners of eyes. The body makeup was also a key to those hot runway looks.

The models also shared their fitness secrets with british Vogue. Adriana Lima does weight lifting, boxing and rope-jumping while Doutzen Kroes also loves to go for runs when in New York. Erin Heatherton does Ballet Beautiful, which allows her to work on her grace. Created by Mary Helen Bowers Ballet Beautiful targets posture and increases flexibility while providing ‘sleek’ muscles and ‘lean center’.

Candice Swanepoel’s regime includes models’ favorite boxing and also pilates and Alessandra Ambrosio adds the latter and yoga to her 10-day Brazil Butt Lift class.

Model Lily Donaldson says she does both those things (pilates and yoga) but also goes swimming and aqua-running. The latter is considered a sport medicine as it gives injured athletes a way for active recovery. Since water is supporting your weight and creating resistance all the musles are working equally. Thus you get cardio and strength training in one.

As you see, there are many ways for models and ‘ordinary’ people to stay fit. Rope jumping burns around 11 or 20 calories per minute depending on intensity and it’s easily available too.
