Nail Trends For Spring/Summer 2013 Season
Embellish your nails with some gold stickers. Apply some color first even if it’s skin toned, let it dry, and decorate a couple of nails (on pinky and ring finger) as seen at Ruffian and DSquared2.
Go For The Moon
At Naeem Khan, Tracy Reese, Clements Ribeiro, and Vivienne Westwood’s shows models sported variations of the moon manicure. At Tracy Reese it was a light blue triangle on electric blue base as well as in other variations while at Naeem Khan the models sported red lacquer and an unfinished moon.
Create your own moon manicure variation using different colors and shapes that will complement your skin tone and nail shape.
For some more fresh manicure ideas look at Issey Miyake and Roland Mouret’s shows. There the models sported half lacquiered nails which made for an interesting look and is great as a new manicure idea.
Nude manicure is not going away. It’s glam, it’s perfect for any ocassion and daily wear. Choose the nail polish that is closest to your skin tone to achieve the long nails look and make your hands and fingers look polished. Here’s how to choose nude nail polish.
Nail art was spotted at Kate Spade and Prabal Gurung’s shows. At Kate Space the models wore long oval nails with checkered print in different bright colors. At Prabal Gurung the French manicure-like tips were done in bloody red with drops over the nude nail polish.
Speaking of French mani. At Peter Som the nails were painted light blue with bright orange tips while at Alexis Mabille the clear base was finished with black uneven tips.
Metallics are not only the fashion trend but also a nail trend for the Spring/Summer 2013. Paint the nails gold or silver or pearl.
As for the colors, brights as well as neutrals are ‘in’ including black and white, dark blue, bluish gray, hot pink, bright green, and intense lilac.
Matching your nail polish to the lipstick or even eyeshadow is still trendy and cool so try red, orange, or hot pink.
