Spring 2013 Beauty Trends From New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week has passed and now we are looking at some pretty Spring 2013 beauty trends. Next season it will be the focus on the eyes and hair. Nude lips are balanced out with textured hair, bright and two-toned eye makeup, and colored eyeliner.
New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Beauty Trends
Quiff hair spotted at Ruffian and Kate Spade shows is featured in two versions. One is more textured and teased while the other one is sleek with a wet look effect, respectively.
Mid part was all over the New York Fashion Week catwalk. Straight hair perfectly parted in the middle was sometimes slicked or simply had the front strands swept behind the models’ ears. This look is chic stylish and easy to achieve.
Extreme Side Part
An extreme side part was seen at Marc Jacobs, Altuzarra, Michael Kors, and Rodarte. The latter took it to a whole new level by sweeping all the hair from one ear to the side, sleeking it out with gel and adding a cuff earring for show.
By the way sleek hair of all sorts was also all over the runway. Whether it was the buns or mid-parted loose hair the sleek and also wet look effect kept hair shiny and smooth.
The buns aren’t going anywhere in Spring 2013. This beauty trend has been with us for a while and next season it is to be worn low and sleek or accessorized with a headband.
Textured hair was a thing at Tory Burch where models sported fishbone braids, also at Badgley Mischka with models sporting messy decorated updos, at Vera Wang where models’ hair was up and textured and tousled, and at 3.1 Phillip Lim. His models wore their hair down but it was stylishly tousled.
The last season’s hair trend – colored streaks appeared at Oscar de la Renta and Peter Som shows. The designers showed that the colored streaks can be worn in a classic French twist or simply in tousled loose hair.
Natural Barely There Makeup
As for makeup there were looks featuring natural barely there makeup. For example, at Diane Von Furstenberg models sported only mascara and a touch of highliting shadows in the inner corners of the eyes. Their hair was flowing and natural.
Understated eyeliner was seen at Ralph Lauren, Altuzarra, and Michael Kors. The thin or half lines in blue, black, and bright green are accentuating the eyes just a bit while the rest of the look is clean and soft.
Two-Toned Maquilage and Bright Eyeshadow
Bright and colorfil eyeshadow is definitely one of the biggest Spring 2013 beauty trends as it was seen at a J. Crew, Peter Som, Lela Rose and a variety of other shows. The two-toned bright look is also a must-try look.
Blue eyeshadow may still be considered a faux pas but it definitely rocked the New York Fashion Week runway. It made appearance in a variety of shades at Anna Sui, Monique Lhuillier, Kate Spade, and Peter Som.
Nail art is still going strong as a beauty trend for Spring 2013. Ruffian has created embellished nails of nude, pink, and blue while at Prabal Gurung the models wore red leaking lacquer tips.
