New York Fashion Week Spring 2014: Best Beauty Looks
The New York Fashion Week has wrapped up leaving us with many pleasant memories fashion- as well as beauty-wise. The most amazing and unique looks were spotted at Zac Posen, Nicole Miller, and Alexandre Herchcovitch shows while a good deal of designers went for trendy looks. Here are the trends and the beauty looks worthy of imitating from backstages of New York Fashion Week.

Orange lipstick is a Spring 2014 must-have beauty staple. The brighter, the better. Wear it with waves or sleeked hair, with or sans eyeliner or even eyeshadow. At DKNY the makeup artists paired the orange lippie with rosy blush while at Rag & Bone the models wore sleek roots and neon bright orange lipstick.
Now that this is out of the way let’s talk about some other beauty trends of Spring 2014. There were many designers who opted for au naturel beauty for their shows. The hair was sleeked, smoothed and sometimes waved but you could also see some hairdos here and there. At Alexandre Herchcovitch models had their hair half smoothed and half waved, which made for an interesting look. Zac Posen sent models walking with flowers in their hair, which looked simply divine.

Other notable trends include kissable lips (even if you’re just wearing an eyeliner), effortless hair, and bright sheer (or not) lipstick.
If you’re keen on wearing bold makeup during spring/summer season go for Nicole Miller’s shade of purple. With a bit of frost, it looks a bit autumnly but thanks to the pink undertones it’s not that dark. I also loved the effortless milkmaid braids.
Winged eyeliner is a great way to accentuate the eyes but you can also try a short line on the upper and lower lids as seen at Zac Posen. Though hair takes the prize. What a great wedding hair inspiration!

Tired of re-applying nail polish? You can skip it and feel fashionable still. Many designers didn’t bother with nail art designs and had models sport clear polish or none at all. White lacquer has been popping up on the runway though and some brands still felt the need for basic nail art to complete their looks. Nicole Miller showed glittery gold nails with black tips, while at Chsristian Siriano and Yigal Azrouel neutral manicure was jazzed up with some interesting strokes on the tips.
