Cardiovascular exercising, often referred to as simply cardio is a set of workouts which significantly raise the heart rate, for up to 85 percent of the heart’s maximum, for an extended periods of time. You would be surprised, but even walking is considered a cardio workout if the intensity is high enough. However, most often walking is not that much of a deal, since we do it every day with no intention of exercising. Among other casual activities that could raise the heart rate are running, swimming and cycling.
However, there are some particular workouts that are attributed mostly to cardio workouts. Among such practices are kickboxing, jump rope, dancing and weighted hula hooping. Kickboxing is a combination of martial arts, some aerobic workouts (which in general are considered vascular) and boxing. You can lose up to 450 calories in that workout!
Among the simplest workouts in cardio are jumping rope and weighted hula hooping! Jumping rope is really easy, but involves several components – such as balance, agility and stamina. You won’t believe, but jumping for 10 minutes is worth running a mile in eight minutes in terms of calories! Meanwhile, weighted hula hoops are larger than kid’s version, but are as fun as they were in childhood.
Cardio exercises are known to burn fat, because they require a lot of energy from you. The simplest of the cardio workouts can push your organism toward your desired goal, by starting to burn the unwanted fat. These exercises are also beneficial for the heart, as they help it to become stronger over time. If your goal is to lose weight, it is best to combine the cardiovascular exercising with some kind of restriction of calorie intake.
