Foods For Better Skin
Food is our main source of nutrients and vitamins. We are what we eat. So before picking up unhealthy snacks and processed foods, think about your health from inside and out.
Some foods are the best sources of vitamins and nutrients that make skin look better. Adding these foods to your diet will make skin look better as they nourish and protect it from harsh environmental impact. There are many fruit and vegetables as well as nuts and berries that will make your skin look better.
Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, plums and prunes. These fruit are high in antioxidants that help protect skin from harsh environmental impact such as sun damage. They protect cells from damage and keep skin looking youthful and smooth.
Nuts & Seeds
Almonds, walnuts and Brazil nuts are great sources of nutrients that nourish skin. Walnuts contain Omega fatty acids, almonds provide magnesium and Vitamin E while Brazil nuts are rich in selenium and Vitamin A and E. Flax seed also available as oil is full of fatty acids and also help lower cholesterol.
Salmon is rich in fatty acids that nourish skin. If you aren’t much a fish fan then turn to turkey as it contains selenium, B vitamins, iron, and zinc.
Spinach is very rich in various nutrients but low in calories. It contains B vitamins, Vitamin E and A. Other vegetables that make skin better are baked and sweet potatoes, carrots, and turnip greens.
Whole grains also contain selenium that can decrease the risk of skin cancers. Swap processed grains, flour, bread, pasta and pastry for whole grain products.
Green tea is a known antioxidant and it has anti-inflammatory properties so it’s great for skin and general health. It can also be used for reducing eye puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
Water hydrates our skin cells from the inside. Make sure to drink enough clean water during the day beside tea, coffee and other liquids.
