Nicolaj Coster-Waldau Covers Men’s Health
Nicolaj Coster-Waldau landed on the cover of Men’s Health magazine this month with his super sexy gaze. He was born in Rudkøbing, Denmark, but grew up in a tiny village in Tybjerg with his mother and two older brothers. How did a village boy in love with sports ended up on the big screen? Well, Danish-born actor confessed in the interview that he always wanted to be an actor, but something restricted him from telling anyone:
I always wanted to be an actor, but I just never told anyone. I had this superstition that if I said it out loud, it wouldn’t come true.
Although he has been acting since 1994 in movies that were mostly in his native Danish language, his world-wide fame came much latter, when he started to make his way into movies in English language, which started in 1997. Since 2011 he is playing one of the leading roles in the medieval fantasy series “Game of Thrones” on HBO. He plays a mischievous Jaime Lannister, who later on becomes a positive character and the role very much portrays his personality.

A natural athlete, he attributes his success for his love for sports and also reveals his secret of playing cool in the movies:
I love team sports, and being in a movie [is like that]. If you’re not good, you’re going to pull everyone down…You have to be sharp when the camera’s rolling. I want to be totally unselfconscious, like a child playing. I do as much prep as possible so I can lose myself for those seconds.
Now his acting career is running high, because only this year he is scheduled for appearances in Oblivion with Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman; Jessica Chastain in Mama, and Juliette Binoche in A Thousand Times Good Night. That is a high profile already!
