The cosmetic American brand Avon in collaboration with the State Department and Vital Voices that works with women leaders in the areas of economic empowerment, women’s political participation, and human rights organized a breakfast meeting to launch the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women held inside the U.S Department Of State’s Benjamin Franklin Diplomatic Room in Washington D.C., on Wednesday morning (March 10).

Being the spokeswoman for Avon, Reese Witherspoon actively participated in the event of the Global Partnership that appeared to be the response to the nearly one billion women who will be affected by violence in their lifetime.

The actress stared the meeting along side with the President of the Avon Foundation for Women, Carol Kurzig, Avon Chairman and CEO Andrea Jung and US State Department Ambassador Melanne Verveer.

The pop singer and songwriter, Peter Andre is to launch the men’s perfume soon and he is full of hope that it’ll follow the steps of his previous women’s scent, Unconditional.

He said:

“I’ve just picked out a fragrance for my new men’s range and I can’t wait for everyone to smell it.”

The 37-year-old star revealed the preliminary date of the fragrance release:

“I’m planning to launch it just before Father’s Day (20.06.10) in the UK so all you ladies have to go out and buy it for that very special man in your life.”

The ex-husband of Katie Price is still astonished at how popular his female fragrance (inspired by Lily Allen, by the way) has been.

He added:

“My perfume is still selling so well – someone buys a bottle once every 35 seconds apparently!”

On his inspiration – Britain singer Lily Allen:

“She’s kind of a fresh burst of summer. There’s something about Lily Allen that’s really exciting to me.”

The sister of the illustrious Beyounce Knowles, Solange Knowles is to be the newest face of the Britain cosmetic brand Rimmel. She joints the Rimmel family that includes such gorgeous spokeswomen like supermodel Kate Moss, actress Zooey Deschanel and model Alejandra Ramos Munoz.

The president of Coty Beauty that owns the Rimmel brand, Renato Semerari, said:

“These three strong, successful and uniquely beautiful women will help ensure that Rimmel London’s image continues to be modern and globally relevant.”

According to WWD, the Coty Inc’s chief executive officer, Bernd Beetz said that the company is thrilled to welcome the new faces:

Sharon Osbourne is quite unhappy with the results of her latest breast enhancement surgery as she feels like she has water bags on her chest.

She is planning to undergo one more surgery and bring the previous result back:

“I wish I’d never had my breasts done the last time. They’ve put these bloody great bags in that are too f***ing round – it’s like a waterbed on your chest,” said Sharon.

It’s been estimated that she has spent about $450,000 on plastic surgery.

The57-year-old reality star continued:

“I hate my t*ts. I want to have the bags taken out and then I’ll put them up on eBay!”

“For breakfast, I’ll eat oatmeal and blueberries and enjoy a salad with chicken or shrimp for lunch. At dinner, I’ll serve up fish and vegetables.”

The 41-year-old star Jennifer Aniston has been working on her debut scent for 1 year and 8 months already, but she still doesn’t know how to name it, though the close to her says the Aniston is to be a fave.

A source told America’s OK! magazine:

“She has yet to get 100 per cent behind any name but the one she favours is Aniston.”

What is this smell about?

“It’s all about capturing the idea of romance and freedom at any age, but it’s hard to do that in just one word.”

The Cheers star Kristie Alley has recently launched her own weight-loss system and site that provides people with vitamin-packed elixirs to slim down.

Kirstie, 59, has dropped 20 pounds since January on her program, she tells UsMagazine.com:

“My two biggest hurdles in weight loss and maintenance are cravings and too big of an appetite,” she said. “I wanted my line to obliterate these hurdles. For me, it has!”

Organic Liaison is America’s first USDA-approved organic weight-loss plan which specifically targets those two problem areas.

She added on the firm’s official website:

“Also one that would actually improve mine and my kids health along with shrinking my awesomely ample bottom.”

Whoopi Goldberg has become the face of the new Bladder Control Campaign that is aimed to talk about the bladder problems openly as hundreds of women suffer from it but don’t know how to treat it.

The campaign is to raise the awareness of not hiding the problems in women. The actress-turned-TV-personality has shot a series of humorous short films which will be aired on the internet, in which she portrays a series of famous historical figures including Cleopatra and Joan of Arc all talking about bladder problems.

Suffering the condition herself, the 55-year-old Ghost star, says:

“Nobody ever wants to talk about LBL (light bladder leakage). For some reason, we’ve decided there’s something taboo about it – but so many women experience it and we should be able to talk about it openly! Leaks don’t discriminate, we all go through it – I tell women this all the time.”

The Osbournes reality TV star, Sharon Osbourne thinks that there is no place in Los Angeles for fat people as they are blamed for it. Being fat is a criminal offence. Sharon plans to move from Los Angeles and return to Britain because she can’t stand how they treat overweight people.

She said:

“Los Angeles is not place to grow old. In England they encourage you to live individually. Here everyone wants to live the same. In Los Angeles it’s a crime to be fat. If you’re a drug addict people feel sorry for you, but if you’re fat you’re a criminal.”

The 57-year-old star has felt the pressure of undergoing the weight-loss surgery on her own back and that made her lose confidence in herself.

She said:

“That and all the other surgery, darling. Living out here you get very self-conscious about body-image and ageing. I’ve battled my right all my life. I got bigger to take up space and stand up to my dad. In the end I had to do something about my eating problem.”

And to restore the self-confidence and find some piece she wants to find home in Britain – she is a real doer! Her father, music manager Don Arden – who died three years ago – made her into a doer.

She explained to the Guardian newspaper:

“He always played hardball. Being around him made me into a strong woman, someone you f**k with at your peril.

She added:

“Thanks to him and thanks to my efforts, all my ambitions I have more than achieved. Everything I wanted to do I have done. He made me into a doer – someone with a strong work ethic, not a whiner. He made me what I am.”
