Masks for sensitive skin
Sensitive skin without proper care tends to cause plenty of problems. It flushes easily, is prone to broken capillaries, is frequently allergic and can be easily irritated. It reacts to lots of environmental factors aggressively, it gets swollen or itches as a result of exposure to the sun, wind, too cold or too warm water, and many others. It may react badly to some ingredients in cosmetics, and in the most extreme cases, to even substances around the house.
To prevent all negative effects mentioned above one should take care of the skin regularly. Besides, toning and moisturizing with the help of products for sensitive skin it is highly recommended to apply various masks which will protect, soothe and combat inflammation and irritation on the skin.
Here are some masks that will make your skin look nice and healthy.
Pear mask. Mix mashed pear (about half), 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon buttermilk. Add some oats if the consistency is too watery. Apply to face and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water.
White clay mask. One spoon white clay, one teaspoon honey, one spoon hydrosol, such as rose water or lavender water and optional ½ teaspoon of Aloe Vera should be mixed well. Apply over clean face, leave it on the skin for 10 minutes and put wet cottons on the eyes. Take it off with warm water.
Oatmeal mask 1.You need a third of a cup of whole, uncooked oatmeal and one egg yolk. In a blender, grind the oatmeal into a fine powder. In a small bowl, blend the powdered oatmeal with the yolk into a paste. Apply mixture to clean skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. It’s better to make this mask twice a month.
Oatmeal mask 2. Mix the oatmeal and an egg white. Let the mixture dry on face, then gently wash off with a few splashes of warm water. Follow with a steaming washcloth to the face.
Yogurt mask. The following homemade mask for sensitive skin helps reduce irritation, and it is also great on sun-damaged skin. You need 1 cup natural yogurt, ½ cup oatmeal. Mix the ingredients together. Apply to the skin for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Honey mask. Also you can warm a small pot of honey in a double boiler then apply it to your face. To be sure the honey is not too hot it’s advisable to test it on your hand first. Leave the mask on your face for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm, then cool water.
Rose clay mask. This sensitive skin recipe leaves your skin gently scented and feeling like silk. Take 1 tablespoon rose clay, 1-2 teaspoons avocado oil, 1 drop rose oil and 1 drop Roman chamomile oil. Mix ingredients. Use water, if necessary, to make a paste. Use a little more clay if too runny. Massage on face; rinse off.
Butter face mask. This mask will be good for sensitive skin as well as any type sunburnt skin. Take a tablespoon of unsalted and softened butter, and a large amount of mashed strawberry. For a normal to dry skin, use an inch slice of cucumber pushed through a sieve and for oily skin, use a tablespoon of lemon juice.
For a very dry skin, try adding 1 egg yolk. Next take a bowl, beat the butter and add suitable ingredient and blend it. Now apply the mask on your entire face and rinse it off after ten to fifteen minutes with a wet, warm washcloth. As butter has a great source of vitamin A, this mask really helps for your sunburns or damaged skin.
