First Look At Ciaté’s Velvet Manicure And Complexion Collection

Just recently we reported that Ciaté is coming up with new velvet manicure polish so here’s a first look. The Velvet Manicure kit consists of a nail polish, crushed velvet powder, small brush and a plastic tray. The principle is similar to that of Caviar Manicure. The crushed velvet powder is applied over the second nail polish coat with a small brush from the kit giving the nails the texture of velvet.

The velvet texture trend was seen on the runway at Ruffian Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show. The models have sported velvet nails in blue, red and lavender. The bespoke manicure, which included velvet moon mani was created in collaboration with MAC. The effect is simply showstopping.

Ciaté is offering three colors gorgeous berry in Berry Poncho, neutral Suede, and dark blue in Cashmere. The kit retails for $19 at Sephora. What do you think about velvet nails? The texture looks amazing we think, a perfect night out nail mani.

In other Ciaté news, the brand is to launch a Complexion Collection of nail polishes in five skin tone shades that will help to make the nails look longer. With all the love the nude nail polish received from fashion people to beauty bloggers it is more and more brands are coming up with the nude polish collections. The Ciaté nudes will retail at $15 at Nordstrom as well as online.
