Work with Natural Features When Applying Make-Up
The golden rules of all make-up artists: outline one feature at a time and don’t forget to blend. These two rules have equal importance and couldn’t be neglect in any kind of make-up: they allow to bring out the natural beauty of the face.
Buy yourself various brushes that will allow you to blend make-up very thoroughly. You may play up only one feature at a time, as I said before, and that could be eyes, lips or cheeks. Apply a brighter color on one of these zones (the best one on your face) and then use neutral or lighter shades for the rest of the face.
The main criterion for the perfect looking natural make-up is a flawless skin. I understand that some women consider day-to-day face treatment a hard duty, but if you don’t want to look like an old shoe by the time you turn 40, start taking care of your face at least since 18. The basic rituals contains cleansing your skin twice a day, exfoliating and moisturizing. It is also necessary to apply a masque once a week after taking a bath or shower.
If you need an immediate recovery, you can create the perfect skin appearance yourself by applying tinted moisturizer, which will give you a light coverage, SPF, warm glow and moisturized skin. Timed moisturizer is applicable if you have dry or normal skin. If you have a combination or oily skin, oily free light foundation will work best for you. Apply concealer on the under-eye circles and pimples. Finish the procedure with face coverage by loose powder.
If you decided to outline your eyes, first apply a shimmery and the medium eye shadows for you lids of the following colors: for blue eyes- brown, peach, pink; for green eyes- purple, copper, gray; and for brown eyes- gold, bronze, green. These combinations will bring your eyes out. Afterward apply eye shadows of of the darker shades to your creases. Line the upper lid with the eyeliner and don’t forget to smudge it for more natural look. And the final touch- curl your eye lashes and apply two coats of mascara: brown for women with lighter skin and hair; dark brown for medium skin tone and hair; black for dark-skinned girls with dark hair.
In case you choose a natural make-up for your eyes, first choose a gel or powder liner in the following colors: brown, gray or navy. Then apply neutral shimmery shadow on your lids and make the accents with shimmery shadows in white, vanilla or pale gold on the inner corners of your eyes and brow bones. And finish your look with lashes curling and mascara applying.
As for cheeks, once you decided to make the cheeks the main accent in your make-up, use a strong cheek color. Light skinned women should choose pink blushes, beige skin looks perfect with peach gamma, olive skin will be perfectly outlined with rose, and dark-skinned women should go for orange and red shades. Creamy blushes will work perfect for women with dry skin, the normal skin needs powder blushes, whereas oily skin requires gel ones. Next step is applying bronzer on your cheekbones, forehead, chin and sides of the jaw. And finally finish your look with putting shimmery highlight on the top of your cheekbones. For the natural cheeks make-up, choose either bronzer or blush in the lighter shades.
When you are going to highlight your lips, the best way to do that is going for a lipstick of a medium shade with a pure lip gloss over the top. Once you apply lipstick of the dark or bright shade, use neutral eye make-up. In case your lips will play the second fiddle, select a clear or light lip gloss. The light skin will be perfectly matched by a pink gloss, beige skin looks good with peach one, women with olive skin should go for a pink-brown and dark-skinned for a rosy hue.
