Sketched Eyelashes: Yay or Nay?

Fall 2012 fashion shows have delighted us with many pretty beauty trends including drawn on a.k.a sketched eyelashes. Aren’t they pretty? Fashion designers Derek Lam, Anthony Vaccarello, and Jean Paul Gaultier have sent models to the catwalk wearing sketched lashes and they look fab.

While the sketched eyelashes look daring and demand practice to turn out great we think it is a great beauty look for a fashion party. It’s also a nice alternative to false eyelashes that too require impreccable application. On the other hand, looking at the look at Jean Paul Gaultier the lashes are done in grungy messy style so we figure you could experiment with eyeliner to get such look and not worry too much about precision. As for precise lines, they can look harsh so instead of drawing the eyelashes create them with strokes to achieve a lighter more natural effect.

We like the trend. Sketched lashes look great, when done right and can be subtle and daring and still accentuate and bring out the eyes. We guess it’s better to create them with a soft eyeliner or creamy eyeshahdow rather than actual mascara. This will give you more flexibility and control when creating this look.
