Heat of the flat or curling iron or blow dryer can damage our hair making it dry. Overuse of the styling products can also have a bad effect on hair. There are various precautions and ways to protect your hair from heat damage, environmental impact and any other adverse effects that our daily beauty routine can have on hair. Overheating leads to dry hair with lots of split ends. It can be done by frequent or improper use of blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons.

Solution to dry hair that were damaged due to overheating is a haircut to remove the split ends. Deep conditioning treatment will hydrate the dry hair and give your new haircut a solid foundation. Let your hair air dry or use towel to dry it before styling. Apply conditioner and damage protection products like special serums and creams that control heat and damage. Use shampoos and conditioners for dry hair to keep hair hydrated and go for trimming once a month. Go natural when you can. Ditch all the styling tools and products except a good quality brush at least once a week to give your hair a rest.

Buildup

Solution to buildup is ditching all the products you most likely don’t need after all. Choose the ones you cannot leave home without or even better ask your stylist to choose the right products for your hair. Let your hair breathe by going natural as much as possible. Don’t wash your hair too often. Twice a week is enough. If your hair gets dirty easily ask your stylist how to deal with it with minimum to no damage.
