Chic & Trendy: How To Create Faux Bob
Faux bob is a quick and easy way of changing and updating your look. This hairstyle has also been spotted at the fall Fashion Week shows of L’Wren Scott, Oscar de la Renta, and Rodarte. The updo is romantic and chic and can be worn with decorative hair pins and other hair accessories.
It’s possible to create a faux bob with both straight or wavy hair. To achieve a curly bob use rollers or a curling iron. It can also be worn with 20s retro curls.
How to Create Faux Bob:
- Part hair and tease the lower part of hair at the neck. Fix in a tail closer to the ends with an elastic.
- Start rolling hair upwards tucking the ends in. Make sure the ends don’t stick out as it will ruin the look.
- Fix the faux bob with bobby pins at the desired length.
- Take a couple of strands out of the bob to achieve a more natural look.
To achieve more volume in your faux bob tease the lower part of hair while curling the upper strands. This will make the hair look more voluminous. Some stray strands can be left loose, waved or curled or tousled to achieve a more natural short hair look.
