Beauty Products To Ditch For Summer
Summer is a time to rest. No need to make your life more difficult this time of year with all the needless products. The summer is a great time to give your face a well-deserved vacation from all those powders, creams, and liquids. There are just a few things that you really need to make your face look great but without all the paint.
Beauty Products Not For Summer
Makeup like there’s no makeup
Heavy Duty Foundation
Alright the problem with creams is that they tend to melt in summer heat and go God knows where so you still end up with imperfect complexion. And while you could wear waterproof eyeshadow and whatnot summer simply isn’t very beauty product-friendly. So ditch your heavy duty foundation and stick with concealer for an odd zit coverage. Use an SPF instead as it will work better for your skin in the long run. If you absolutely need coverage opt for a tinted moisturizer with SPF as to avoid any confusion of what to put on first, a sunscreen or a moisturizer.
Let’s be honest most luminizers give you the glisten not the glow, which is especially true for summer. Your skin is naturally trying to keep it cool so you sweat in the heat, then there are natural oils, and you only add sparkles to this whole shine parade so they look more like fanfares. Let light perspiration work as your natural luminizer and blot the excess oils from skin if necessary to keep it all in check.
Oh, I know, lipstick can be a great summer outfit accessory but it’s just impractical when it comes to cooling off with ice cream or ice tea. There are a lot more touch ups involved, which isn’t very relaxing. Besides it’s easier to find a tinted balm with SPF for your lips than a lipstick or even a lip gloss.
This one probably should be at the top of the list as most eyeshadow products can’t stay on your lids without crumbling, sliding, or fading into oblivion in normal weather. So when it comes to eye makeup in summer we would suggest a good waterproof eyeliner and mascara or even just a colored mascara, if you’re looking to save your mood and your face.
Last but not least, the summer is a drain on powder, especially for those with oily skin. Seriously when does it all go? At best if slides off your skin together with sweat and skin particles, at worst it sinks into your pores clogging them and causing all kinds of problems. Now, if you are feeling self-conscious about oily skin or T zone it’s best to invest in mattifying cream and blot paper than touching up your face with product that sits on top of all the dust and sweat that the summer days put on it.
If you could have only one product in summer, we would suggest it’d be a brow gel or something like that, unless of course you were blessed with the thick beautiful brows (pick your own pet peeve then). As they frame our entire face, the well made up brows can do a lot more to adorn your face than any amount of makeup.
